About Us Before Application
Prolonged exposure to UV light fades the painted surfaces as well as blistering the exterior. The more alarming problem is the build up of damp within the walls through rising and penetrating damp. As conventional paints have no breathability they act as a seal, trapping moisture behind them until the paint and render eventually break away, leaving you needing to repair and repaint the exterior of your property on a regular basis.
Weathershield A.C.S. put an end to frequent cycle of painting and maintenance on your property with a coating system that lasts 10 times longer than conventional paint.
We install a variety of coatings that are 15 times thicker than ordinary paints. Available in smooth finish, light texture, coarse texture and a clear coating suitable for stone built properties and stone cladding. Each of our coatings is available in 9 colours, with special colours available on request.
We also have the solution to problematic flat and tiled roofs, in the form of Roofshield, our weatherproof roof coating guaranteed for 10 Years against the elements. Roofshield is available in 5 standard colours as well as a transparent finish.
Products After Application
Specially manufactured from raw materials such as polymer resins, volcanic rock, glass fibre and titanium oxide, our coatings are 15 times stronger than conventional paints and available in smooth, light texture and coarse texture finishes.
Although the coatings are much thicker than ordinary paints, they remain completely micro-porous and actively draw moisture into the atmosphere, helping eliminate any damp within the walls. The surfaces demonstrate excellent flexibility and will not crack, peel or flake under changes in temperature.

Weathershield Clearshield:
Clearshield is a protective coating that is completely clear, versatile and micro-porous. Used for the protection of porous surfaces such as stone cladding, brickwork and cement render. Clearshield deeply penetrates the surface to prevent algae and fungal growth, as well as providing the necessary protection against penetrating damp. Clearshield is invisible when dry so so you maintain the aesthetically pleasing of your brickwork or stone cladding.
Weathershield Roofshield:
Roofshield is a resin based coating spray applied to flat roofs and concrete tiled roofs, to provide protection against leaks, penetrating damp and deterioration from exposure to the elements.
Before any coating is undertaken, the roof is inspected, all damaged tiles are replaced and all necessary repair work is undertaken. The roof is then pressure cleaned to remove all moss, algae and unwanted residue. After the preparation and repair have taken place, two coats are spray applied to the surface, leaving the roof protected and looking like new.

Application The Application Process
- All surfaces are power-washed in order to remove loose paint and render, as well as dust dirt and soot.
- Each elevation is then bio-washed to sterilize the walls and kill existing algae, mould or fungus.
- All cracks, blemishes and blown areas of render are raked out and repaired using polymer cements.
- The building is then masked using heavy duty paper and tape, as well as dust sheets and polythene, to cover plants pathways and terrace.
- A stabiliser is applied to aid adhesion and the bonding process.
- Two coats of the required finish are applied using high pressure spray to ensure total adhesion and an even finish.
Frequently Asked Questions1. Does all of the existing paintwork have to be removed prior to application?
No, all surfaces are power washed to remove loose paint and render, in some cases it is necessary to wire brush and sand areas
2. What happens to the damaged paint and render once it has been removed?
We take great care to clean up and remove all debris from the property ensuring no mess is left on the site.
3. How should the coated surfaces be cleaned after application?
Quite simply the surfaces can be easily cleaned using an ordinary garden hose. We recommend the coated surfaces are powerwashed every three years.
4. How can the coating be waterproof and yet breathable at the same time?
This is a difficult concept to grasp but quite simply the coating works in exactly the same way as gore-tex clothing. Falling rain is too big to to penetrate the surface, however water vapour that builds up in the walls is small enough to escape through the micro-porous membrane.
5. Why is the coating spray applied?
We spray apply the coating for two reasons, firstly the product is too thick and viscous to be applied by brush or roller. Secondly using a high pressure spray ensures a complete bond to the underlying surface.
6. Does your system take longer to apply than an ordinary paint job?
The simple answer is yes. The product is vastly different to normal paint and we take great care to clean, mask and repair all defects on the surface before application. However once the coating is applied, it is weatherproof within 60 minutes, eliminating problems caused by a change in the weather during application.
7. How much does the system cost?
As you will appreciate, no two properties are the same in terms of size, masking and repair work. We do not charge a set price per square meter so it is impossible to quote figures without surveying the property in question.
8. What happens if I want to replace windows and doors after the work has been completed?
Once the new windows and doors have been fitted, we will return to the property to to carry out such re-coating work as is necessary.
9. How many workmen carry out the work on a property?
All work is carried out by a team of two applicators.
