What started as a dream in Kos has become a reality in Javea, a beautiful town on the Costa Blanca here Spain. Our ethos is to make Scuba Diving safe, accessible and affordable for all and for all to enjoy the fastest growing water sport in the world. We are the “Experts in Splashology” and our Try Dive Experience is often imitated but never equalled.

Our dive sites range from shallow picturesque dives, full of fish and marine life through to cavern, night, boat and deep dives. We organise away trips all along the Spanish coast from Navarre through to Calpe, Denia, Benidorm, Moraira, Mazarron and far flung destinations like Dhahab in Egypt.

Meet The Team

Paul Williamson, our team leader was born in Lancashire and after a stint in the RAF became a nightclub manager and a professional DJ in the Midlands. After 3 years he got “itchy feet” and moved to Denmark where his DJ career really took off. In his spare time, his love of the water found him teaching water skiing but then he tried Scuba Diving and realized he could have more fun under the water! He has worked abroad on dive boats to further his diving career and, after meeting Diane, they moved to Spain to start their own Dive Centre, thus Javea Divers was born. Paul is now a NAUI Instructor Trainer and spends his work time teaching students and his spare time diving; so he has the best of both worlds. Is he having fun yet? You Bet!!

After meeting up with Paul in Denmark, Diane visited him whilst he was working in Kos and had her first experience of Scuba Diving. She was promptly bitten by the dive bug and always warns people that Scuba is a dangerous sport – dangerous because it can seriously change you life as it did hers. She was working as a Principal Risk and Insurance Officer for an East London Local Authority but swapped this - and much more - to move to Spain with Paul to start new life and Dive Centre. Now she works long hours but has the pleasure of watching students take their first tentative steps to becoming qualified divers. Would she swap anything? Nope!

NAUI Training Standards

NAUI was founded by Albert Tillman and Neal Hess in 1959. In August 1960, NAUI’s first Instructor Certification Course was held at the Houston’s Shamrock Hilton Hotel with 72 candidates. A little over a year later, in October 1961, NAUI was incorporated in the State of California as a non-profit educational organization. Al Tillman was the first President and Neal Hess, the Executive Secretary. Other original board members included John C. Jones of the Red Cross and Garry Howland of the United States Air Force. NAUI Worldwide remains the oldest international not-for-profit membership training agency organized solely to support and promote dive safety through education. Throughout its existence, NAUI has continually maintained a position in the forefront of diving education.
